Queens Birthday 3 Day, Woodhill, 4th-6th of June 2011

Picture
This years Queens Birthday carnival will be held on the lightning fast pine forested dunes of Woodhill, just north of Auckland. The maps being  used (White Lines and Telephone Track) contain some really cool areas of detailed sand dune, fast running pine forest, tricky coastal strip as well as quite broad slopes, so all in all quite a diverse area.
The competition is also quite exciting with the entire weekend being NZOF A-Level events as well as superseries, ANZ test match and North Island Champs.
The three races are multi-day long distance with the combined times adding to make the North Island Champs results.
Runners like Toby Scott and Gene Beveridge should be in good form in their home terrain and I think will be very difficult to beat. Also top Auckland based runner Ross Morrison will  feature high in the results. Unfortunately the Australians are sending over somewhat a B team so I don't think the NZ men will be too threatened. I know that personally Matt and I are aiming for clean technical performances over all three races.
The weekend looks like an exciting three days of competitive racing for all age grades so we encourage everyone to get along to it.
